Overview

Bective Tennis is delighted to be hosting the “Bective Tennis Club Graded Open”, which runs from Saturday 11th May to Saturday 18th May. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all participants and we look forward to some great tennis in some great weather!

Tournament regulations

BECTIVE LTC GRADED OPEN: 11th–18th May 2024
1. The tournament is sanctioned by, and held under the Laws, Rules and Regulations of Tennis Ireland whose Code of Conduct will be enforced.

ENTRY CONDITIONS
2. Entry fee is €17 for singles events and €15 for doubles, plus €6.00 Tennis Ireland tournament player capitation fee. All entries must be made online and accompanied by the appropriate fee. No entry will be accepted without payment of same. For doubles events, only complete entries (where both partners have entered online) will be considered valid. Entries close on 1st May 2024 at midnight. Players not accepted will be placed in a reserve list. Entries will be accepted according to the date and time of entry (first-come first-served). Entry will be closed once event capacity is reached.

3. The minimum age for competitors is 16 years of age by the 31-12-2023.

4. Players may enter a maximum of two events, of which a maximum of 1 singles event. If a pair (doubles) or player (singles) enters the same event in two classes, the entry in the lowest class will be disregarded. The Committee reserves the right to accept/refuse entry to any player whose standard is considered, by the Committee, to be appropriate/inappropriate for the grade entered.

5. No unavailability will be accepted. The committee will make efforts to accommodate unavailability due to DLTC league, if communicated in advance.

6. The withdrawal deadline will be 2nd May 2024 at 23:59. Any players that withdraw after this deadline for any reason other than sickness, injury or force majeure will be subject to late withdrawal suspension penalty points and will lose the right to ranking points and refund. Players will be required to present a medical/physiotherapist certificate if applicable to the club.

7. In case of withdrawals, players on the reserve list may be contacted up to 24 hours before the scheduled time of the first match in the tournament. After the tournament has finished, the entry fee will be refunded to players in the reserve list that are not called to play.

8. Draws will be made on 4th May 2024. Seeding will be based on the information available to the organizers at the time of preparing the draw. Previous results including DLTC league will be considered in determining seeding. Schedule for will be published as soon as possible after the draw takes place and will not be open to alteration by competitors.

9. IT IS THE DUTY OF THE COMPETITORS TO ACQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH TIMES AT WHICH THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
9. Play will commence at 9:00 during opening weekend and at 5:30 during weekdays. Competitors must check-in 15 minutes before their scheduled time of play and if not present when required to play they may be disqualified.

10. Matches will be played outdoor on artificial grass in Bective LTC. Outside courts may be used where necessary. Floodlights will be used where necessary.

11. Dunlop Fort tennis balls will be used.

12. Recognised tennis attire must be worn, including non-marking tennis shoes.

13. Players must be available to play the final and attend the prize ceremony. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of prize/s, penalty suspension points and loss of ranking points.

14. Players may have up to three matches in one day. With no more than two singles scheduled in one day.

15. Players are advised to follow instructions regarding access to courts and refrain from crossing courts during play.

SCORING
16. Matches will be the best of three sets with the tie-break rule operating at 6-all in the first two sets. (If the score reaches 6 games all, a set tie-break will be played (to 7 points, win by a margin of 2 points). If the score is 1 set all a match tie-break will be played (to 10 points, win by a margin of 2 points). Advantage will be played.

17. The decision of the Referee or his/her deputy and Tournament Director will be final in relation to all matters relating to the tournament.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
18. Paid public parking is available in the main car park in Energia Park (Donnybrook Stadium)

19. By entering the tournament, you give permission to be photographed and/or filmed by or on behalf of the committee for promotional purposes. If you do not permit this, please inform the Tournament Referee.

20. The Tournament Committee will not be responsible for any injury or accident, on or off the court to any player or guest or for any property damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen during the tournament.

21. Players/pairings with status DA beside their name are in the Main Draw

22. A minimum of eight entries per event is required. Should this figure not be reached, the organisers reserve the right to cancel such events. Players will be contacted in such instances and will be refunded their entry fee.
